and i'm feeling good..!!


Day 3 of my diet.. things are going well.. 2nd run of *9 miles today, did that in 1.31, not to quick but happy with.. It was such a beautiful day, sun was shining... and i felt good, although my legs were so achy from the run on Monday... 

Work was actually a right laugh, first time ever that i've had such a fun..

Hannah has just in from work.. (20.20) and she looked really pretty.. love her to bits..

right need to eat my healthy dinner..  i'm so hungry :-)

D -day




Here we go again...

i have just weighed myself and I'm at my heaviest in a long time.. 10stone 9lbs... now that's not good..  i did have a pre-diet blow out at the weekend and ate and drank enough for a family of 6..lol anyway.. today is DDay - the start of my diet - i am going to follow a calorie controlled diet and reduce my calories to about 1200 calories a day..   I did fthis before following a Tesco diet and lost a stone in weight so i am going to aim for a stone for starters and see how that goes.. the first week i'm expecting to lose at least 4-5lbs..  oh and Today alan and i are going for a run... we are not going to mess about we are starting with a 9 miler.. it may mean lots of walking but even that will be better than nothing.. so off in a bit and feeling positive..

Sun is shining, a bit chilly but we can handle that..

9 miles done.. not all running but took us 1hr 33mins,,  not quick but not bad for starters

food today..



breakfast
1 banana -                              
2 slices of whole meal toast  

2 cups of tea with skimmed milk

Lunch
1 egg scramble on two slices of wholemeal

Dinner
Stir fry chicken with blackbean sauce and whole meal brown rice

1.5 pints of water

Just wanted to add that I love Alan so much, he is the perfect husband.. he looks after us all very well...bless him

today..

ok so it's Friday,  at the moment i do not work Fridays however, that may change, i've offered to work extra hours at the surgery and i'm waiting to see if they are going to take me up on the offer...

so today, so far i have been a right lazy bones, i got up at 09.15, had tea and toast, followed by a long soak in the bath (after lots of internet browsing) at 11.45..  it's now 13.04 i'm dressed and hair done.. but have not done a thing in the house oh other than put the washing on..  The kitchen is a mess, as is the rest of the house so i guess i will start in the kitchen.. 

This afternoon i have to go shopping, i don't mind it to much as Alan helps out.. At the moment Alan is at the Marina hotel photographing the opening of the Spa..I am desperate for him to come home soon as he has been offered an amazing opportunity by the hotels directors and i need to hear all about it.. i'm feeling really quite excited.. I know it's photographing 11 of their old peoples homes for brochures but i need to hear more.. xx

Monday is going to be diet day again!!  I have planned my meals and need to concentrate on getting nice and slim..  I have a couple of weddings coming up in the summer and i want to be slim and fit.. Running has gone out of the window for the last 4 - 5  weeks so i need to start that on Monday too.  So Monday is the day (Alan will laugh because i always start diets and things on a Monday)  My goal is to loose 1.7 stone and start running as if i'm going to be running a marathon.. watch this space..!!!

Hannah is having a hard time trying to decide what to study at Uni.. she did decide on Nursing but now she is unsure what to do..    I never went to Uni,  I am not the brightest spark and i really don't know what to suggest to her other, i can only support her decisions...  For now though, she has decided not to go to Uni this year but to take take out and think about what she wants to do.. good move me thinks!!

Right all those jobs i've been putting off  i really need to start now..

not forgotten

What a lovely day here in Dover, sun is shining and it's really quite warm... I love it when the sun shines.. :-)

I have not been blogging recently, it's not that i have forgotten, i'ts more that i could not be bothered... I have been tooooo toooo busy... :-( I am still on a diet..well ok, not so much a diet but more healthy eating than anything, i have cut out the daily bag of crips, the biscuits and all the other rubbish... My food portions are more controlled and hubby and me are running plenty.. 5 miles 3 times a week along with walks with the dogs at the weekend.... So whilst i'm not losing shed loads of weight, i'm not too bothered about it. To be honest, i've not got a lot to lose, if i had I don't know, say 3 stone, i'd be losing 3 or so pounds a week.. I could do with losing 1/2 maybe but that extra 7lbs is my choice, it's not as if i need to lose it, i've lost the christmas pounds i gained so that suits me just fine.. Besides with running, i'm probably staying the same weight as it's muscle i'm building, so muscle weighs more than fat....doesn't it?? My weight is the same as the last two weigh in's so no point broadcasting it...

weigh day

Ok so i have not blogged for a couple of days...blogging food plans does get a little boring.. The diet is still on track, mainly stuck to it apart from having a few glasses of wine, but hey you gotta live eh!!

So today is weigh in day..

It's the same as it has been for the last two weeks.. So i'm not jumping through hoops and maybe feel a little dissapointed.. But I guess everyone reaches a plateau at some point in their diets..

I am going to do a food plan but not today, have not got enough time....I will catch up soon...

its the weekend


ok this is the third time of trying to add an entry to my blog...Our PC appears to be playing up. I suppose we really could do with another but will have to wait, a new pc is way down on the priority list..

This last week has been glorious weather wise, it's not been baking hot, it's just been sunny and warm, i use the word 'warm' loosely though.. :-)

The week of dieting has gone ok, i seem to have hit a plateau, not quite sure what to do about it either. I have stepped up the running a little, running 5 miles 3 times a week and have been sticking to my diet, but the weight stayed the same last week. Could it be that i am building muscle from increasing my running maybe, do i need to change my diet? Who knows, guess for now i'll stick it out for a couple of weeks and take it from there.

Food for Today..

Breakfast
2 weetabix

Lunch.
pitta pocked with hummus and salad

Dinner:
Not decided yet... feel like being bad, really really bad..but then again!!
Perhaps i'll stick tooo the following

Pork in sweet & Sour sauce
1 oz brown rice
4 oz's pork cut into strips
1 tsp cornflour
1 tsp of soy sauce (dark or light, doesn't matter)
1/2 tbs tomato puree
1 tsp of sugar
1 tsp vegetable oil
1/2 tbs white wine vinegar
1 clove of garlic
1 piece of root ginger about 0.5 inch
3oz's pineapple.

Place port in a bowl along with the cornflour and soy sauce. Mix together and set aside to marinade
prepare the sauce by mixing the vinegar, tomato puree and sugar. Set aside
Heat the oil in a non stick frying pan and when hot add the pork and brown all over, for about 5 mins. Set aside
in the same pan, fry the garlic and ginger for around 30 secs. Add around 2floz's water, bring to a boil and return the pork to the pan. Add the sauce mixture and pineapple and allow to cook over a low heat for around 15 mins, more water can be added to prevent from drying out..
finally....serve with the brown rice and enjoy

Don't forget to drink plenty of water.. about 1.5 litres a day.. yes it's boring unless it has hops or grapes with it but drink it anyway..

late tonite

I am a bit late tonite with the blog..  What's my excuse... no excuse I'm afraid, just didn't get around to it until now :-)

So weigh in today...  No great excitement from me at all today...  Last week the exercise increased, following the plan was in check..ok well almost..  here's my confession.. one word.. Wine!! lots of nice yummy wine...  failed on the wine front big time but, we don't go out so we enjoy a glass of the red stuff... 
 So no loss this week, no gain either, so i am happy enough with that..  :-)  will try harder for next week.

Food plan as follows.
Breakfast
2 slices of wholemeal toasted bread
1 banana
mash banana on toast and enjoy
Lunch:
Hummus Pitta pockets
1 1/2 tsp reduced fat pitta
mixed salad
and enjoy
Dinner.
Chinese lemon chicken
4oz chicken fillet cut into 2cm pieces
1 tbs sherry
1 spring onion finely sliced
1 tsp of olive oil
3oz chopped celery
3oz mushrooms sliced
1/4 pepper sliced
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 Lemon slice
2 tsp soy sauce

place chicken in a bowl, pour over sherry,lemon juice,finely chopped onion and mix well.  Marinate for 30 mins
heat the oil in a frying pan and add the chopped celery,mushrooms and pepper.  cook over a medium heat for 2-3 mins to soften slightly.
Add chicken mixture and continue to cook until the chicken is cooked.
Stir in soy sauce and lemon rind just before serving
